Another winter engagement session, this time with Christine and Vick, who are no doubt one of the funniest couples I’ve encountered. They had so much energy playing around that makes me feel like I’m becoming old. The whole time I felt like I could write a great romantic sitcom script by recording their conversation during the session.
Melanie and Michael have spent a lot of time snowboarding together on the Blue Mountain, thus they came up with this idea of having their engagement photos taken there for the sentimental value that the place holds for them. I always like ideas or themes that could define the couples. We spent a little time in the village and then headed to Craigleith Resort right beside the Blue Mountain to take some action shots.
Another lovely afternoon was spent at High Park with Susan and Simon for their engagement session. Simon is a very care-free person who prefers minimalist. Susan was always very enthusiastic throughout the session, trying out all the ideas she could think of and very fun to work with. The two of them together is just very cute and adorable. Similar to my other couples, they’d like to have some fall colours in their photos and these colours are just naturally beautiful in the cameras!
Guess what? Daniel and Iulia, and myself, we all went to the same high school except they were a year or two ahead of me. It brings me back a lot of memories thinking about the courses Daniel and I took together, trigonometry, physics, chemistry and biology in high school. All those times of joking around in classes, copying his notes and constantly asking him for help for the questions I couldn’t solve. Iulia was Daniel’s high school sweetheart and they’ve been together ever since. I didn’t know Iulia back in high school, but a few years later when Daniel introduced her as his fiance, I couldn’t be anymore excited about meeting her. Earlier this year we talked about having their engagement session during the fall season, and here we have it at High Park. Even though it was raining heavily on the day, I love it when they went all the way out to get wet for creativity in such weather, it’s almost like the famous scene from the movie “The Notebook”. (PS.Daniel is also a talented drummer from 8oz soul!)
I spent a wonderful time with Larissa and Randy on Thanksgiving for their engagement session. We spent first half of the session at the park where Randy had proposed to Larissa, which was very relaxing with beautiful autumn colours. After that we went to the CNE ground for some historical looking buildings. Surprisingly, I had never actually been to the area without CNE going on there, it’s nice and spacious and not crowded at all. Larissa and Randy also changed their outfits to have a little Shanghai theme . All in all, super easygoing couple and great spots they picked! A special thanks to Jeffrey Casareno for assisting.
One of the many things I’m pretty happy about my job is that I get to explore different places when I work. Shops at Don Mills for example, I had passed by this area so many times but I had never really taken a walk inside the area. Plus, I love it when couples have ideas or themes for their photoshoots. Melanie and Michael picked this great spot for their more modern-look engagement session. They are surely easygoing and open to creativity.
Lorraine and Jordan are such a cute and funny couple. Just watching the way they interact with each other never fails to make me smile. We spent the afternoon on the Toronto Island for their engagement session. Even though it was raining a bit that day, their mood never seemed to be affected. It’s like they are always happy no matter what happens. They are so approachable that we talked about…pretty much anything from calculus, microbiology, their visit in Philippine, their first two dates, wedding DJ’s playlists and Sushi restaurants in Oshawa.
We spent a wonderful afternoon/evening with Courtney and Rayfield for their engagement session. Thanks to them I finally got to visit the Rosetta McClain Gardens, it’s such a relaxing area to take photos of. Plus both Courtney and Rayfield were easy to work with thus made the session even more relaxing. After spending our time at the garden, we quickly headed to downtown to take a few photos of the building where Courtney and Rayfield first met each other. Their wedding is coming up next month and I can’t wait to photograph it. A special thanks to Alex To for assisting with the light.
There were some really genuine moments and emotions at Alisha and Ayaz’s engagement party, something that’s always worth celebrating for. Both Alisha and Ayaz were super nice to me and I”m glad I had this chance to work with them and received some kind words from them as well. “We received the pictures yesterday and they are wonderful! We are all very happy with the quality of your photography. We love how you’ve really been able to capture the emotions so well – you are certainly very talented. It was really nice working with you and we will highly recommend you to our friends. Thanks so much for capturing these memories so beautifully!!” – Alisha & Ayaz
I believe that I have started shooting more and more in the city these days. Some people say that Toronto is not a very interesting city in terms of its architectures and styles, and frankly I thought so too until I started photography. Now, with all the pictures I have taken of Toronto thus far, I can prove otherwise that Toronto is a beauty! I spent a lovely evening with a lovely couple, Sonia and Fabio, for their engagement session. At the beginning, Sonia told me that she didn’t feel that her smiles would look good in the photos, I felt like I really had to prove her wrong! And Fabio was really easy-going and friendly. This session was the first time that we met but he told me he felt as though he had known me for 20 years. All in all, I had a wonderful time with this fun couple.
